Which work environments are not suitable for pregnant women

Pregnant women who are office workers can participate in normal daily work, but they should not engage in the following tasks that may cause miscarriage, premature birth, fetal teratogenesis, etc. that seriously endanger the health of the mother and fetus:

(1) Heavy physical labor. Heavy physical labor consumes a lot of calories, increases the blood output of the heart, increases the burden on pregnant women, affects the growth and development of the fetus, and even causes miscarriage and premature delivery.

(2) Frequently do work such as bending, squatting or climbing. Squatting or bending for a long time will compress the abdomen, affect fetal development, and cause miscarriage and premature birth. In the third trimester of pregnancy, mobility is difficult and often accompanied by edema of the lower limbs, making it even more inappropriate to participate in such work.

(3) High-altitude or dangerous operations. It is not suitable to participate in operations with a risk of falling, operations at a height of more than 2 meters above the ground, and other operations with a risk of accidents.

(4) Operations involving exposure to chemical toxic substances or radioactive substances. Chemical toxic substances and radioactive substances have teratogenic and carcinogenic effects and seriously endanger the health of mothers and infants. If the concentration of lead, mercury, arsenic, nitrogen compounds, carbon monoxide, nitrogen, benzene, toluene, xylene, ethylene oxide, aniline, formaldehyde, etc. in the air exceeds health standards, office workers and pregnant women should not stay here. work environment.

(5) Types of work involving high temperature operations, vibration operations, and excessive noise. Research shows that if the temperature of the working environment is too high, or the vibration is very severe, or the noise is too loud, it will have an adverse effect on the growth and development of the fetus.

(6) Types of work exposed to electromagnetic radiation. Research results show that electromagnetic radiation is a hidden killer of fetuses, which can seriously damage fetuses and even cause teratogenesis, congenital stupidity and stillbirth. Therefore, personnel who are exposed to radioactive materials produced in industry, engaged in electromagnetic radiation research, television production, and radiation work in medical departments must strengthen protection.

(7) Medical workers. During epidemics of infectious diseases, such personnel are often in close contact with patients suffering from various viral infections, and these viruses (mainly rubella virus, influenza virus, cytomegalovirus, etc.) can cause serious harm to the fetus. Therefore, if clinical medical staff plan pregnancy or early pregnancy during the epidemic of viral infectious diseases, it is best to strengthen self-care to prevent viral harm.
