The Secret of Cesarean Section Surgery

A caesarean section is an important midwifery procedure. A caesarean section is an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus to remove the fetus. Timely surgery can not only save the lives of mother and child, but also enable the mother to maintain a normal postpartum physique and the ability to continue to reproduce. Therefore, the biggest benefit of cesarean section is that it can not only help the baby but also help the mother stay safe even when there are risks.

The order of C-sections varies from hospital to hospital. Generally follow the following steps:

1. Sign the surgical consent form as directed by the doctor. Although cesarean section has a good reputation, it can only be performed on a doctor\’s order. Use only if there is danger to mother and fetus. If you have any concerns or objections, be sure to consult your doctor and sign the consent form. Different hospitals have different signatories, but the signatories should mostly be yourself and your husband.

2. Blood collection, electrocardiogram, and chest X-ray examination. To ensure the safety of the operation, the mother should undergo a full-body examination before cesarean section. Blood is drawn to check whether the mother is anemic; to check whether the liver function is normal; to determine the mother\’s blood type; and whether there are other blood diseases. It is not uncommon to perform an electrocardiogram to check whether a pregnant woman has pregnancy-related heart disease. The radiation from chest X-rays has an impact on the fetus in the first trimester, but has basically no impact on the fetus in the third trimester. Doctors will use a radiation shield to cover the belly of the pregnant woman.

3. Preoperative anesthesia. Depending on the mother\’s condition, the doctor will give the mother epidural anesthesia and occasionally general anesthesia. Anesthesia is administered by a specialized anesthetist.

4. Intravenous drip Intravenous drip is a necessary procedure before surgery to avoid a sudden drop in blood sugar and cause maternal coma.

5. After all preparations for inserting a catheter into the urethra are completed, the expectant mother will be sent to the operating room. You will not be able to go to the toilet during the procedure, so a urinary catheter will be inserted to guide your urine.
