There are 900,000 to 1.2 million breast cancer patients worldwide every year, and breast cancer has become the number one killer threatening women\’s health. Qin Shengqi, chief physician of the General Surgery Department of Beijing Friendship Hospital, introduced ten measures to prevent breast cancer:

1. Don’t give birth too late. Single women, women who marry later, and women whose marriage lasts shorter are generally more likely to have breast cancer. If your first child is older than 30 years old, your risk of breast cancer will increase. Breastfeeding for many months has a protective effect on the occurrence of breast cancer. Breastfeeding for more than 5 years can reduce the risk of breast cancer by 30%.

2. Breast cancer mortality is directly proportional to per capita annual fat intake. Research shows that meat, fried eggs, butter, cheese, candy, animal fat, etc. increase the risk of breast cancer, while green vegetables, fruits, fresh fish, and low-fat dairy products can reduce the risk.

3. Women who smoke more than five cigarettes a day and take birth control pills are at least twice as likely to develop breast disease as other women. Women who have smoked for more than 10 years are more than three times more likely to develop breast cancer than other women.

4. Continuing to exercise, such as brisk walking, cycling, swimming and aerobics, can reduce the risk of breast cancer.

5. A good attitude, a happy mood, and avoiding mood swings can help reduce the risk of breast cancer.

6. A harmonious and regular sexual life can maintain the physiological regulation of breast tissue and hormone levels in the body.

7. Regular physical examination and self-examination. 90% of breast diseases are discovered during self-examination. People with a family history of breast cancer should be more careful.

8. Active treatment of benign breast diseases and non-proliferative lesions will not increase the incidence of breast cancer, but the relative risk of breast cancer increases with proliferative lesions, especially those accompanied by lobular or ductal dysplasia.

9. Use hormones with caution. Do not use cosmetics and beauty products containing hormones for a long time. Be careful when taking hormone-containing tonics and using hormone drugs.

10. Avoid unnecessary radiation exposure. Women who have had their chests exposed to excessive radiation due to other medical conditions are at increased risk of developing breast cancer.

Dr. Qin Shengqi said that surgical resection is the main treatment for breast cancer. Combined with radiotherapy, chemotherapy, traditional Chinese medicine treatment, endocrine therapy and molecular targeted therapy, the long-term survival rate is high. Therefore, even if you have breast cancer, you don’t have to worry too much. Early detection, early diagnosis, Early treatment is the key to improving the cure rate of breast cancer.
