From early childhood to early childhood, reciting ancient Chinese texts begins early

Looking back today, Beaver and I have been reading \”The Analects of Confucius\” for half a year, and the current progress is \”Yan Yuan Chapter Twelve\”. Reading \”The Analects of Confucius\” is not a mandatory requirement for Beaver. It is an accidental choice that allows us to persevere together. If you persist in this matter, you will gain many benefits: the habit of reading, the perseverance to persevere, the acceptance of ancient prose, and the enhanced sense of language. This can be regarded as \”unintentionally planting willows\”. Whether it’s the “Chinese Studies craze”, “Big Chinese” or new curriculum standards, the specific requirements include proficient recitation of ancient classics. In terms of practice, I summarized it as follows: 1. Extensively read to children of lower age groups, which is very widely accepted. Montessori has a theory of the \”absorbable mind\”, which is widely accepted in enlightenment education: a child will absorb all the stimuli he is exposed to. The currently popular \”bilingual\” teaching for younger age groups is the influence of this theory. Specifically, the younger the child is, the language and text stimulation you provide can be recorded by the child like a video recorder. Therefore, the child may not fully understand English, but he can speak it. Similarly, when a child is exposed to ancient Chinese recitation, he will absorb it curiously. When reading, you might as well broaden the scope of reading so that children can receive more stimulation, so that children will not feel unfamiliar and intimidated when they come into contact with classical Chinese after entering elementary school. 2. Now Beaver and I are starting to read \”The Analects of Confucius\” because I read it loudly in the morning. When choosing what to read in the morning, Beaver chose \”The Analects of Confucius\”. There is a process from easy to difficult when getting in touch with ancient literature. What happened to my family may not apply to all families. If you can, it will not be too late to start contacting and reciting ancient Chinese from now on. As for the introductory books, they vary from person to person. Generally speaking, you can use \”Young Learning Qionglin\”, \”Li Weng Duiyun\”, \”Hundred Family Surnames\”, \”Thousand Character Essay\”, etc. Another opportunity is in the form of \”Uncle\’s Little Classical Prose\”. It is a way of enlightenment to tell one or two sentences of classic ancient texts through stories, and to break down some commonly used ancient texts into stories. But from my own perspective, this applies to test taking. What I hope is that children can love traditional culture. Therefore, after being enlightened by this kind of story, I will take my children to read the original text of the classics as much as possible. 3. Talk about the ancient Chinese saying \”The value of learning is to have doubts, but to have doubts is to make progress.\” The Analects of Confucius has the most direct expression about cross-talk and inspiration: \”If you are not angry, you will not be enlightened; if you are not angry, you will not be angry.\” That is, if students are not at the point where they have questions and are not ready to accept it, don’t forcefully indoctrinate them. The same goes for my studies with Beaver. At the beginning, I will read the first sentence sentence by sentence. Following the understanding model of \”The Analects of Confucius\”, I will talk about the circumstances and how Confucius discussed it with students. Through this form, try to turn the dialogue in \”The Analects\” into a vivid scene instead of separated quotations. For example, when I talk about the sentence Zigong asked: \”How about being poor without flattering the rich and not being arrogant?\” I will talk about the relationship between Zigong and his teacher. At the same time, we chose \”Half-Hour Analects Comics\” to read together to help children understand. The comics are easy to understand and don\’t teach very profoundly, but they are \”interesting\” enough to attract children\’s attention. Beaver thus remembered the personality traits of Zilu, Zaiwo, Zigong, Yan Yuan and others. When reading the original text, there will also be someLenovo. 4. Be gentle and persistent. I didn’t know at first whether I could persist. After practice, I discovered a truth: for children in the lower grades, the core of persistence lies with their parents. It takes long enough to do something for your brain to form a memory. No matter what you learn, it may be easy to get started, but perseverance requires hard work and dedication. This process, in terms of physical sensations, is unpleasant most of the time. After three or four months of studying, Beaver also had the idea of getting scared and giving up. At this time, I did not force myself, but I insisted on reading aloud every day. The stimulation of pronunciation was there, not to mention that the children were still competitive. Seeing my persistence, he returned after a few days. Also give children autonomy in choosing the content to be read aloud. For example, sometimes, when a child is tired, let him choose which chapters to read today and which one to read first. The feeling of being respected can also gain support from children. Written at the end: After half a year of persistence, Beaver himself has made reciting \”The Analects of Confucius\” a must-do thing every day. He showed me the power of persistence and gave me strong support: Everything does not start when the preparation is perfect. In the process of learning, we will gradually improve.
