Pre-pregnancy diet does not determine the gender of your baby. The gender of the baby is determined by the parents\’ chromosomes. Female eggs can only carry X chromosomes, while male sperm can carry either X or Y chromosomes. When the sperm and egg combine, if the sperm with the X chromosome combines with the egg, a girl will form; if the sperm with the Y chromosome combines with the egg, a boy will form. Therefore, the baby\’s gender is determined by the parents\’ chromosomes, not by the pre-pregnancy diet.
Can you choose the gender of your baby by controlling pre-pregnancy through diet?
There is currently no scientific evidence that the gender of your baby can be selected through dietary control. The sex of the baby is determined by the parents\’ chromosomes. Males have XY chromosomes and females have XX chromosomes. When the sperm and egg combine, if the sperm carries a Y chromosome, the baby will be a male; if the sperm carries an X chromosome, the baby will be a female. Dietary control cannot change the chromosome mix of the parents and therefore cannot select the sex of the baby.
