Through the exchange of hospital and medical insurance information, insured employees in Chongqing High-tech Zone who use maternity reimbursement for maternity expenses in designated hospitals can receive monthly maternity allowances without the need to declare.
For eligible insured employees, they are exempt from declaration and can directly enjoy maternity subsidy. They can enjoy maternity subsidy within 5 working days at the fastest.
1. Female employees whose employers have paid in full for 6 consecutive months basic medical and maternity insurance premiums for employees, and who meet the scope of policy childbirth or pregnancy termination, will enjoy maternity insurance benefits in accordance with regulations.
2. If an employer fails to pay the basic medical and maternity insurance premiums of its employees, the maternity insurance benefits of its employees will be suspended from the month following the arrears
If the payment is in arrears within 6 months, the payment will be reissued in accordance with regulations after paying the full amount owed and late payment fees.
Maternity allowance is calculated and paid based on the average monthly salary of the employer of the employee in the previous year.
Calculation formula:
Maternity allowance = average monthly salary of the unit in the previous year ÷ 30 days × number of maternity leave days
The employer’s average monthly salary in the previous year
The employer\’s average monthly salary for the previous year shall be determined based on the sum of the average monthly wages of insured employees reported by the unit to the medical insurance agency for the previous year divided by the number of employees on the job at the end of December.
If the employer does not have the average monthly salary of its employees in the previous year, the maternity allowance will be calculated based on the average monthly salary of its employees in the current year.
Note: The number of maternity leave days for calculating maternity allowance is calculated as 128 days (on this basis, 15 days will be added for caesarean section; for multiple births, 15 days will be added for each additional baby).
