Children in first and second grade cannot rely solely on teachers. No matter how many extra classes they make up, it is better to plan their evening time.

Sitting in the same classroom, taught by the same teacher, and using the same textbooks, why are the learning effects so different? The gap between classmates comes from the time arrangements after returning home. So, how should we arrange our children’s time after school? Based on my family’s situation, I would like to share it with you. First, there are few outdoor sports courses for grades one and two, and school ends at 3:30. We do not participate in after-school care services. If there is someone at home to pick up, it is recommended that the children go home early and do outdoor sports first. We will first practice skipping downstairs, which is also a check-in item required by the teacher. I have to say that the child has made great progress. In just a few days, he has progressed from only thirty or forty dances to more than one hundred. Long-term persistence will not only improve the child\’s endurance, physical fitness, but also sports performance. After practicing skipping rope, the rest of the time can be arranged by the children, such as playing hide-and-seek with the children, playing basketball, or running. The outdoor time should be limited to one hour. If it is too long, the children will be too tired and will not be able to concentrate on studying later. After returning, let the child take a break to prepare for the next study. Second, complete school homework. Because we did not participate in after-school care, sometimes the exercises left by the teacher in class cannot be completed in time, so we must complete them first. There is a rule in my family that school homework must be completed before dinner. Teachers of first and second grade students don’t leave too many homework assignments, and most of them are completed in class. So it\’s easy for kids. Children must complete all school homework as soon as possible, otherwise school homework will have to be done until 8 or 9 o\’clock. How can there be time to do such things as reading and practicing calligraphy? Third, additional expansion is to complete the \”Mom Card\” homework. If we don’t make good use of the most relaxing time in the first and second grades, the amount of homework in the senior grades will increase, and the children’s habits and abilities are not well developed. As I shared before, the first and second graders will have fun and the third and fourth graders will cry. You see, first of all, oral arithmetic is a must, and it takes about 5 minutes. This has nothing to do with IQ, it is a proficient process. In the first grade, you can start by practicing addition and subtraction within 5, and gradually transition to within 10, and within 20, until you can blurt it out. Then I will make a synchronized Chinese and mathematics exercise book. At first, I will take him to read the questions and understand the meaning of the questions, and then gradually let the children do it by themselves. It takes about ten minutes to finish the questions on one side. It just fits the shortened version of Pomodoro learning method, study for 15 minutes and rest for 5 minutes. Let me remind you that if you encounter a child who doesn\’t know how to explain something and can\’t understand it, don\’t fight with him or her, which will make you feel unhappy, waste your time, and achieve little results. Sometimes a child\’s lack of understanding is related to his brain development, and there is no need to rush. You can wait until the next day or Saturday or Sunday to consolidate it, maybe he will suddenly get it. After that, it’s time to practice calligraphy. You can familiarize yourself with the new words by copying the synchronized copybooks, and help your children dictate and write down the words every now and then to consolidate them. Finally, listen to the English audio, read the text, and preview the content of the next day\’s class. All the above content can basically be completed in more than an hour. Since there is almost no homework in school at home, I can finish some of the \”Mom\’s\” homework before meals, and the children can play happily after 7 o\’clock in the evening. If your home has a lot of homework at school, you don’t have to do the synchronous exercise books, or you can only do one or two advanced questions. Writing homework carefully is also a way to practice calligraphy, so that the child’s time will not be so tight. Children in first and second grade must have time to play in the evening, so that the child can realize the benefits of completing homework quickly and help him develop good habits. Fourth, parent-child reading before going to bed is also essential every day. Reading with your child on the back of the bed before going to bed not only enhances the parent-child relationship, but also helps him develop a good habit of reading. Go to bed on time at 8:30 pm. After a day of study and exercise, the child will fall asleep quickly. After the child sleeps for 10 hours, it will not be difficult to get up early. Instead, the child will be in good spirits and can still read in the morning. This is benign cycle.
