The problems that came to light after learning New Concept English in third grade finally made me understand why my children couldn’t learn it well.

When my child was in third grade, since he was learning English well in school, I started to introduce him to New Concept English. At the beginning, he was quite obedient, so I asked him to watch video lessons and learn by himself, and then memorized the text, and he never passed it again. More intervention. Occasionally, I asked him what a certain sentence in the text meant, and she got the answer wrong. When she opened the dictation book again, she found that it was also full of mistakes. It turned out that his dictation was just dictation, and he did not read the original text after dictation. Only then did I understand the problem. Now I finally know why some children can’t learn well when using the same textbooks and taking the same classes. 1. Perfunctory in class, whether it is an online video class or reporting off work, if the child\’s mind is not here, what\’s the point of just spending time? The simplest thing is to open your child\’s textbook and see if there are any notes. If it is a video class, parents should try their best to take it with their children if possible, and help them recall the points that they have not remembered. Especially for students who have started learning in the lower grades, it is easy for them to become distracted without their parents keeping an eye on them, or they may not be able to take notes at all and cannot grasp the key points of class, which requires parents to take care of them. 2. The text cannot be read. Just let the child read the text he has learned. It is amazing. The child has problems with pronunciation of words, but he can write correctly by dictation. But what if the word appears in listening next time? So now after my children attend video classes, I will find the text audio and ask them to read along, making sure the pronunciation is correct before dictating. 3. The simplest way to detect whether Chinese and English do not correspond is for parents to speak Chinese and let the children speak English, or vice versa. Parents speak English and children speak Chinese to see if they can speak correctly quickly. Words should also be dictated regularly. Chinese and English You need to be able to translate between each other. Only in this way can you truly master the words and sentence patterns. Fortunately, the above problems were discovered in time. I wrote them down in the hope of reminding parents that since we want to learn, we should work hard and pay close attention, so as not to let our children spend time and energy without reaping the rewards in the end.
