(4) Avoid perineal incision infection:

Postpartum, pregnant women may experience excessive sweating, lochia, vaginal birth injuries or caesarean section wounds. During this recovery period, pregnant women should pay attention to physical hygiene and health care, and must not stick to traditional concepts. When the wound is swollen, painful, hard, or has purulent secretions when squeezed, antibiotics should be taken under the guidance of a doctor and the sutures should be removed to facilitate pus discharge; apply 1:5000 potassium permanganate warm water for sitz bath locally, daily 2 times, 10-15 minutes each time, or wash the wound surface with a decoction of Chinese medicine that clears away heat, detoxifies and dissipates stagnation.

When the wound is edematous, the sutures will tighten before removal and the pain will continue. You can apply local hot wet compress with 95% alcohol gauze or 50% magnesium sulfide solution twice a day; try to raise the buttocks as much as possible when aiming to facilitate the return of body fluids and reduce wound edema and pain.
