Capture children’s sensitive periods in the right way and help them grow up healthily

Introduction: Teacher Sun Ruixue wrote in the book \”Capturing Children\’s Sensitive Periods\”: After successfully passing a sensitive period, a child\’s mental level will rise from one level to another. In other words, children\’s sensitive period is particularly important because it is a springboard for children to improve their mental level. If it passes smoothly, the child\’s various abilities will be greatly improved. Children who are in a sensitive period will be very interested in specific things. For example, they particularly like to observe small bugs, ants or even smaller objects, which means that they are in a sensitive period for small things. And you find that children have to put their shoes neatly after school every day before they are willing to change into slippers, and their usual toys are also neatly arranged according to color and size. This shows that the order-sensitive period has arrived… My child is already 6 years old and has experienced this. I have some experience and understanding of the sensitive periods in preschool. I share this with you today, hoping it will be helpful to you. When your child reaches such a sensitive period, do not blindly stop it to avoid missing the opportunity to stimulate your potential and delaying the development of your abilities. 1. Language sensitive period (3 months to 3 years old) From about 3 months old, babies can be guided to try pronunciation, and music, nursery rhymes, picture books and other enlightenment props that can produce sounds can be provided to help children practice their sense of language. By about 9 months, the baby can basically pronounce simple words, such as \”dad, mom, grandpa, grandma.\” Then you can talk to the baby more to stimulate language development. After entering kindergarten at the age of 3, I mastered basic daily language and often chatted with my children. Can improve expression ability. After my child entered kindergarten, we would talk a lot on the way home from school every day. He would talk about what happened in the kindergarten, and I would listen. 2. Sensory sensitive period (1-1.5 years old) When my child was just born, a relative gave him a rattle. I shook it every day, and he would stare at me. Later, I put the rattle in his hand and slowly If he is slow, he will be able to hold it and shake it by himself. Within 1 year of age, listen to more children\’s songs, either sung by parents or audio books, to help children perceive different sounds. After reaching 1 year old, you can combine listening, seeing and touching to identify colors, listen to enlightenment props with sounds, touch cave books, or tactile early education props. 3. Movement sensitive period (3 months to 3 years old): turning, sitting, and crawling. I believe everyone has heard this sentence, but the development of each child is different and cannot be used as a unified standard. Generally, at 3 months of age, children can already raise their heads and lie prone for about one minute on their own. After a month or two, when their arm strength has developed enough, they can turn over and turn sideways. Gross motor development is a milestone in children\’s growth. During every child care examination, doctors will also focus on observing the baby\’s gross motor development. You can usually use grasping toys, building blocks, etc. to promote the development of children\’s hand-eye coordination and stimulate the development of fine hand movements. At about 2 years old, children can basically walk independently. With the help of their mother, they can get dressed and their limb coordination has also been well developed. You can use Montessori early education props to exercise hand-eye coordination, and use throwing balls, running, and jumping to exercise body coordination. 4. Order sensitive period(2-4 years old) I remember that when my son was more than two years old, he began to enter the order-sensitive period. He would be particularly angry if someone moved the stools, toys, and shoes he had arranged. One time I didn\’t pay attention and stumbled while putting on my shoes in a hurry to go to work. I knocked down his shoes. My son burst into tears immediately and said to me aggrievedly: \”Mom, you have to say sorry to me. You knocked down his shoes.\” My shoes.\” Although I was busy at work, I knew that he was in a sensitive period and needed comfort, so I quickly said sorry to him and straightened his shoes. Therefore, when children are in a sensitive period for order, parents should not destroy their children\’s belongings easily, but should also gradually establish normal daily routines and eating habits. This is also the enlightenment period for abiding by rules. 5. Sensitive to tiny things (1.5-4 years old) Whether the child sees bugs on the ground or sequins on mom’s clothes, the child has to observe them for a while. This is the period of sensitivity to tiny things. This is also the golden period for cultivating observation and concentration. Remember not to disturb your child easily and let him watch quietly, as long as it is not in a safe situation. 6. Reading sensitive period (2-5.5 years old) The reading sensitive period is also called the cultural sensitive period. Generally, children will become interested in books around the age of 2. At first it might be board books or hole-in-the-wall books. When the child is about 3 years old, you can choose appropriate books and read them to your child every day. After entering kindergarten, it is recommended to fix reading time. At this time, children\’s memory, learning and understanding abilities have been further improved, and they are more willing to explore in books. Not long after my son was born, I started reading nursery rhymes, children\’s songs, and picture books to him every day. He couldn\’t understand them at first and just looked at me quietly. Later, when he was about 6 months old, he began to call him \”Mom, Dad\”, and his subsequent language learning went very smoothly. Now in the first grade, the teacher often praises the child for being attentive in class, loving to read, and knowing a lot. He usually gets double A+ in quizzes, and is deeply loved by the teacher. Therefore, the sooner you develop the habit of reading, the better. Especially during the sensitive period of reading, you should pay more attention to it. Preschool education is expensive. Even public kindergartens cost eight to nine hundred yuan a month. This fully illustrates the importance of early education. As parents, we must pay more attention to guidance and education during the critical growth period before the child is 6 years old!
