Recently, the World Health Organization (WTO) released an investigation report that attracted a lot of attention. According to reports, more than 46% of Chinese pregnant women choose caesarean section, and the caesarean section rate ranks first in the world. However, 25% of these pregnancies do not require a C-section at all. If cesarean section is abused, it will not only endanger the health of the mother, but it is also not a good thing for the newborn. However, what qualifies as being abused? If you can give birth naturally but choose a caesarean section, you fall into this category. Why didn\’t everyone retreat, but more people followed suit?
From the perspective of postpartum recovery and pregnancy for a second child, vaginal delivery does have more advantages than caesarean section, but it also depends on the age and physical condition of the expectant mother. Not to mention if you are young, in good health, and had a natural birth; if you are older, in poor physical condition, and may still have high-risk factors, a caesarean section may be more appropriate. With the advancement of medical technology, the complications of cesarean section in regular hospitals have been greatly reduced and are almost the same as normal delivery.
Need to create favorable conditions for smooth delivery
If it is the first choice in a first pregnancy, we would of course prefer a vaginal delivery. Because compared with normal delivery, caesarean section is more harmful to the mother\’s body and is prone to sequelae such as pelvic adhesions and uterine rupture. In addition, the abdominal wounds are layer by layer, and postpartum recovery is much slower than normal delivery. Moreover, newborns do not have to go through the painful struggle of the birth canal, and their bodies are weaker than those of naturally born children. But even so, natural childbirth is not easy. There are quite a few mothers who were prepared for normal delivery early in the morning, but had to choose caesarean section due to various accidents. Among them, there are unpredictable factors.
In addition, favorable conditions must be created for smooth delivery.
First, the age should not be too old. When women are 23-25 years old, their physiological state is good. Not only is the birth faster, the pain is less, and the confidence is high. Over the age of 35, it becomes more difficult to have children;
Second, don’t overeat. Taking milk powder as an example, if you have a normal diet during pregnancy, you do not need to take extra milk powder to supplement nutrition, otherwise it will easily lead to macrosomia (that is, the fetus weighs more than 4 kilograms), which will increase the difficulty and risk of natural childbirth.
The third is to check regularly and correct abnormal fetal position in time. If pregnant women have high blood pressure or diabetes, they should receive symptomatic treatment as soon as possible.
In addition, the size of the pelvis is also a hard condition. Taller women generally have larger pelvises and are more likely to give birth naturally than thin women. Never delay your caesarean section. At present, caesarean section has become a routine operation in obstetric departments of major hospitals. The reason is that not only patients are afraid of natural childbirth, but doctors are also worried about the unpredictable factors of natural childbirth. What I want to tell you here is that even if the prenatal examination is normal all the time, there is no guarantee that there will be no abnormalities in the final natural delivery. Therefore, when the pregnancy reaches 36 or 37 weeks, the doctor will give a plan to choose natural delivery or caesarean section. At this time, mothers should respect the doctor\’s opinion.
According to reports, abnormal fetal position during delivery, unstable fetal head, complications of hypertension or diabetes during pregnancy, and cardiovascular disease in older mothers are all high-risk factors. You should hurry up when having a caesarean section. This choice must be decisive. In addition, the limit of the entire pregnancy period is 42 weeks, but all indicators of pregnant women are normal. If you are not pregnant after 41 weeks, you should be extra vigilant. If necessary, the patient should be hospitalized for observation, induced labor, and artificial water breaking. Once the amniotic fluid exceeds grade 2 turbidity, a caesarean section should be performed to prevent fetal hypoxia and suffocation. The first child was delivered by caesarean section. When giving birth to a second child, the uterus contracts violently, which can easily cause scars on the uterus to rupture. Most of them also choose to deliver their babies by caesarean section. For second babies in high-risk groups, it is recommended to find a professional and experienced doctor for examination. Even with a caesarean section, the success rate is higher.
