“If you don’t let your children sleep, you are killing them.”

This is not what I said. I watched a short video and saw a doctor with a psychology degree say it. I think so. He said, why are so many children jumping off buildings now? Why can\’t they say anything? Is the child too pretentious, or is the child actually on the verge of collapse? He said that even if children are ignorant and don\’t know what death means, at least they know pain, right? You also know that it would be very painful to fall from such a high building and be smashed to pieces, right? But why do they jump without hesitation? That\’s because the pain in real life has far exceeded their fear of falling from high altitudes – death is really nothing compared to the pain they have already endured. So why is this happening? This doctor of psychology said that according to his clinical research, most of these children who are psychologically fragile, have negative emotions about life, and have hopeless children have one thing in common: too little sleep! Many children sleep less than 5 hours a day. It doesn\’t happen once in a while, it happens year after year. Lack of sleep can lead to a range of mental problems, including depression, anxiety and a disregard for life. Is this expert being alarmist? I remember when I was in middle school, there was a boy in our class. His father was a criminal police officer in the Public Security Bureau. He often told us that when his father arrested a suspect, if they didn\’t arrest him, they usually wouldn\’t rush to interrogate him, and would just let him sleep first. When he wanted to sleep, he would be shaken awake by the guards and shine a bright light on him without asking any questions. It didn\’t take three days before the prisoner was recruited, and he told me everything he asked. Tell without asking. Because the police all know that if people are not allowed to sleep, they will collapse. Once they have a mental breakdown, they will tell the truth and there is no need to torture them. I don\’t know if I am allowed to use this trick now, but it can be seen that depriving people of sleep is really a more will-destroying method than torture. What about our children now? Let’s not talk about key middle schools. Children in ordinary middle schools and junior high schools are doing well if they can go to bed before 11pm. It would be really hard to go to bed before 12pm in high school. But regardless of primary school or middle school, you usually have to get up at 6:30 in the morning because you have to have morning self-study after 7 o\’clock. Those who live close to home can sleep a little longer, while those who live far away can probably get up at 6 o\’clock, and breakfast can only be done on the way. Therefore, most Chinese teenagers are sleep-deprived. Let alone 10 hours, even 7 to 8 hours cannot be guaranteed. Last year, skiing star Gu Ailing said that one of the secrets of her success was to get 10 hours of sleep every day. When she heard this, Chinese children cried faintly. This alone blocks the path to success for 99% of children. So how does Chinese medicine view this problem? Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the heart governs the blood and stores the spirit. Mental problems are generally related to blood pressure. When the effort is sufficient, the mind will be clear, positive, responsive, and the memory will be strong. When the heart blood is exhausted, confusion, depression, slow reaction, upset and forgetfulness will occur. Not sleeping is the most common behavior that consumes your energy. After a person falls asleep, the body will metabolize, excrete the old and bring forth the new, remove blood stasis and generate blood. A good night\’s sleep not only nourishes yin and blood, but also nourishes the spirit. Once sleep is lacking and hard work cannot be cleaned and replenished, people will fall into a state of anxiety and irritability, and the overall learningLearning ability will also decline. The less you sleep, the less likely you are to learn, and the less likely you are to learn, the less likely you are to sleep, creating a vicious cycle. A person\’s teenage years have a great impact on his or her life, both physically and mentally. Many people suffer from rhinitis when they are 50 years old, but it is just because of a cold that was not cured when they were young. So we can\’t just look at children\’s results and blame them for not studying hard, but we should reflect on whether we give children the physical opportunity to study hard? The school has its own requirements, but as a parent, you must also know how to weigh the pros and cons. We cannot leave everything to the school when the children are young, to the society when they are older, and to the hospital when they are sick. Then when something goes wrong, blame the school, society, and the hospital. . . . . As parents, we need to know how to protect our children. When he/she is hurt, you should see the wound and try to help him/her recover. That day there was an extra table tennis table in our office building, and I excitedly invited my friends from my company to play. As a result, only two out of ten people knew how to do it, and they didn\’t play well. For these children born in the 1990s, their physical activities in school are limited to running. They don’t know how to play anything. As a person who is almost 50 years old, I am not good at swimming, roller skating, table tennis, badminton, basketball, shuttlecock, and skipping. I learned all of them when I was a child, and I am very good at them. However, if today\’s children do not study these activities specifically as part of interest classes, they will rarely be able to play well. As for those who attend interest classes, most parents take exams for their children to prepare for higher education – the children really don\’t have any fun learning at all. I often meet people asking me, what medicine can I take to supplement my child? In fact, I would say that if you can make your children sleep a little longer and play outside a little more every day, that is the biggest supplement. Is there any homework that will kill you if you don’t do it? Is there any paper that I can’t do without doing it? There are so many people who graduate from Peking University who have mediocre lives, and their academic performance has no decisive role in their lives. In fact, the only thing that can definitely play a decisive role in life is good health. However, this most important thing has become the most easily ignored factor by many parents and is ranked last. It\’s so sad, so sad.
