Never limit children by gender. In fact, boys need more care and girls need more strength.

Growing up, we subconsciously believe that there are many differences between boys and girls, but are these differences really innate? In our consciousness, boys like blue, like robots, like fighting games, have courage, and have strength. As for girls, they are weak, docile, like pink, and like to play house and play with dolls. But, is this really the case? Are boys born with strength? Are girls born weak? Recently, I saw such an experiment in \”Game Power\”, and I found that it was not true: the experiment was like this: there was a baby wearing diapers crawling on a big table, half of the subjects were told that it was a girl, and some Half of the subjects were told it was a boy. The researchers secretly observed the subjects\’ reactions to the children. Experimental results show that if adults regard the child as a girl, they will hug her more quickly and interact more with her. If the adult thinks the child is a boy, he will wait a little longer to comfort him, but he will be more encouraged to explore and move. Because of gender stereotypes, everyone has completely different attitudes towards children: more and more love is given to girls, while courage and opportunities for exploration are given to boys. And all of this has nothing to do with the child\’s true gender. In fact, it can be seen from experiments that the innate differences between boys and girls are not big. But because of stereotypes, we have such a psychological suggestion: because she is a girl, so she can… because he is a boy, so he must be more… Invisibly, girls are required to be well-behaved and good to others, and Ignore their sense of strength. As for boys, they are not encouraged to cultivate intimacy, but male competition, courage, achievement and strength are repeatedly emphasized and instilled in them. In this way, over time, the development of the child is unknowingly restricted and the child is unable to realize his full potential. This leads to: girls, weak in mathematical logic, weak, not fond of sports, lack of opinion… boys, social skills Not strong, not delicate in mind, not warm-hearted, unable to sit still, not talkative… In fact, the power of close connection and self-confidence is the birthright of every child. The difference between children does not come from their gender differences, but because they are different individuals. Therefore, as parents, we should all strive to give boys more care and girls more power. How to do it specifically? 1. Join the doll game. Many girls like to play with dolls. We can join in and make the dolls a little more energetic, make them dance, match them with not-so-ladylike clothes, and even say some not-so-ladylike words, such as, \”I\’m a girl.\” , but I just like to run and jump, and you can’t stop me.” Purpose: To encourage girls to take risks, speak loudly, insist on their own opinions, and have their own ideas. 2. Join the killing game. This is a game that many boys like to play. We can introduce some realistic feelings into the game: \”Oh, it hurts!\” In addition, we can also create various opportunities to interact with our children.Close contact: If we are shot, we can fall on them. If there are enemies, we can huddle closely behind them. Purpose: To find an excuse to have physical contact and emotional connection with them. 3. Play some communication games with your children. For example, in the \”lucky\” and \”unlucky\” Solitaire game, one person starts the story with \”luckily\” and the other person continues with \”unfortunately\”. For example, play Scribbled Line. One person starts drawing, drawing sloppy lines that don\’t look like anything, and the other person finishes it, drawing something, and both take turns starting. Purpose: Use non-verbal or game methods to communicate with children and help them express their inner feelings. 4. Emotional games. For example, make a facial expression, or find some representative expressions from magazines, and then express your feelings from the expression. Let the child put on a scary, sad, or fearful expression, and we will respond with another expression accordingly, such as a comforting, calm expression, etc. Play fantasy games with your children and let our characters express feelings through words and actions. Don’t be formal, be exaggerated. Purpose: Help children understand and express emotions. 5. The \”Designated Screamer\” game. Help those children who have to endure it even if they are injured. For example, the child is injured and in pain, but he endures it and tries to deny the pain. We can play \”designated screamer\” and help him scream. Purpose: Help children release suppressed emotions. 6. Boys and girls, play together. Encourage boys and girls to play together. Such mixed-gender games can not only provide boys with opportunities to bond, but also help girls increase their confidence and strength. Because girls don\’t want games that are just about death and destruction, and boys don\’t want games that are just about dressing up dolls, they will also learn how to be more creative in order to play together. In addition, do not use gender to label children, and do not preemptively divide toys into \”boy toys\” and \”girl toys.\” Try to provide a variety of toys and let the children decide what games to play. Even if boys play with dolls and girls play with cars, it’s not a big deal. When a boy plays with dolls, he is experiencing love and caring for others, and learning how to express emotions; and when a girl plays with cars, she is also experiencing feelings of power and control. Whether they are boys or girls, they all need to experience the feeling of being cared for and cared for, and they all need to be given the courage to explore the unknown world. I hope that each of us can get rid of gender stereotypes, help boys learn to connect while retaining their strength, and help girls gain their own strength while connecting. Don’t restrain your children’s thoughts and behaviors, change their way of thinking, and give them a fairer, more diverse, and broader future.
