Study planning for primary school students to junior high school should be done in advance

During the graduation season, many parents come to inquire about the transition from primary school to junior high school. \”A true message is a word, but a false message is thousands of books.\” After all, if you don’t think about planning to go from elementary school to junior high school until graduation season, it’s actually too late. I know that many sixth-grade classes now have not even finished their textbooks by the end of May. You can imagine what the students\’ general review will be like. Parents must do what the school does not do and cannot rely on others. The lack of solid general review actually has many consequences. Students have gone through six years with many ups and downs, and their learning status and knowledge shortcomings are different. It is absolutely necessary to use the last semester to organize, summarize, and check for deficiencies. Each child\’s situation is different, and specific problems must be analyzed in detail, which cannot be done in a large classroom. Families must follow up and \”poverty alleviation\” must be precise. Studying is like climbing a mountain. The high school entrance examination is halfway up the mountain, while the college entrance examination is a small peak in life. What kind of mountainside and peak you climb has a great relationship with the preparation at the foot of the mountain. Sprinting on the mountainside and summit is of course important, but if you ignore the preparations ahead, your sprinting power will be limited. There are many good learning techniques on the Internet, which are the crystallization of the teacher\’s wisdom. However, these techniques can not only quench temporary thirst, but also depend on the students\’ comprehension. It is a technique, not a Tao. There must be a reasonable plan for the six years of primary school. Grades 1 to 3 focus on the guidance and cultivation of study habits and learning methods, such as homework habits, class habits, reading comprehension, writing habits, etc.; at the same time, emphasis is placed on cultivating children\’s positive and optimistic qualities. Starting from the fourth grade, plan your studies reasonably. By the fourth grade, children have a certain foundation in perceptual and rational cognition, and it is completely feasible to solve composition and reading problems in primary school. Don’t be surprised. You may think that asking fourth-grade children to write sixth-grade compositions and read is a trick. In fact, it is not difficult at all. It is mainly a matter of concepts and methods. With the foundation of the fourth grade, the fifth graders will go through the must-read classics and ancient poems and Chinese texts in junior high school in advance. Not only can it expand students\’ knowledge and improve their learning abilities, but it can also save a lot of time for junior high schools. This is killing three birds with one stone. Starting from the sixth grade, parents can arrange comprehensive review on their own without waiting for the school. There are two reasons: first, the comprehensive academic performance in sixth grade is a basis for classification in junior high schools; second, the first-grade test at the beginning of junior high school is the best opportunity for teachers to get to know your child. A good first impression is better than trying to make friends and give gifts. If you don’t arrange these things in advance, who are you going to rely on? There are some factors beyond our control when it comes to class placement in junior high schools. What we can control is to do our best to consolidate everything we learn now and what we can learn in advance during the primary school period. This is the best kind of control. I teach Chinese, but I also agree that science is the focus of junior high schools. Only by learning Chinese and English as early as possible can junior high school students have the energy and confidence to learn science well. Primary school and junior high school are really completely different things when it comes to learning. Plan ahead, take a long-term view, and don’t be misled by some specious ideas. The price of some \”chicken soup for education\” is something we ordinary people cannot afford.
