Study: Pregnant women with melanoma five times more likely to die

[Global Network Comprehensive Report] According to the British \”Daily Mail\” report, the latest research shows that women diagnosed with melanoma within one year of pregnancy or childbirth are five times more likely to die than ordinary women.

Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer. Most melanoma tumors are brown or black, and a few are pink, tan, or white. Direct exposure to UV rays is the leading cause of melanoma.

Experts believe estrogen is to blame for the high mortality rate. The study results show that the melanoma metastasis rate, recurrence rate and mortality rate of pregnant women and first-time mothers are higher than those of ordinary women.

In recent years, the number of young female patients with melanoma has been increasing. Experts recommend that women under 50 years old go to the hospital regularly for skin examinations or self-examinations. (Internship compiler: He Ying Reviewer: Li Zongze)
