Children spend more than half of their daily learning time at school and in the classroom. If classroom time can be used efficiently, the efficiency of the entire study can be ensured. At most, the teacher can ensure that the child is \”in person\”, but it is difficult to say whether the child is in the heart or not. Even if the \”heart is there\”, the child may not make good use of the time. We can inspire children and find a suitable listening method for them. 01 The key to efficient listening is the self-test before class: 1) During class, I feel that most of the content is unfamiliar. 2) If I \”desert\” in class, it\’s probably because I don\’t understand or can\’t keep up with the teacher, which makes me feel too tired. 3) I don’t have the habit of seriously pre-study. If your child answers \”yes\” or \”maybe\” to the above three questions, read this part carefully. Talk to your child about learning to ride a bike. When we first learned, we had to think about how to step on our feet, how to hold the faucet with our hands, how to use the brakes… we were all in a hurry. It’s not easy to ride at this time because there are too many things to worry about. When we become more proficient, we will be able to learn more complex skills such as how to turn, how to get in and out of the car, etc. without having to think about unimportant details. The same goes for listening to classes. If we walk into the classroom and find that every concept is unheard of, it takes a lot of effort to understand it, or even cannot be understood. Then, the effect of this class will not be good. So that\’s why we preview, we study in advance. We need to reduce the number of clues in the classroom and reduce the pressure. The simplest and best way to preview is to read the textbook and understand it as much as possible. If you encounter a problem, congratulations, you have found the key points to focus on in class. If the previous foundation is not solid, the effect of listening to the new class will also be poor. You must first return to the basics and solve the previous problems. If your child is still young, to avoid being unable to keep up during middle school lectures, you should read more popular science and humanities books from an early age to expand your knowledge and accumulate some basic knowledge. 02 The secret is to take a quick self-assessment from the teacher: 1) When the teacher teaches examples, I always wait for the teacher to analyze them for me. 2) I will not think about the relationship between new content and other knowledge unless the teacher prompts me. 3) I will not find suitable examples for new concepts to make sure I understand them. In the same 40- or 45-minute lecture, what is the difference in learning efficiency? The main difference lies in the degree of \”brain use\”. The more you use your brain and the more active your thinking, the better the learning effect will be. But in class it is mainly the teacher who talks. If you just listen, it is easy to think superficially and accept passively. The most important thing is to stay ahead of the teacher. For example, when the teacher talks about examples, you should try to find the ideas before the teacher starts to analyze. What if it’s too late to think about it? That means your thinking is not quick enough and you need to think more. What should I do if I can\’t think of anything? Refer to item 1. If you can stay ahead of the teacher, you can use the teacher\’s explanations to verify whether your understanding is correct. If you find it\’s incorrect, great, this is where you have to pay attention and listen to the lecture. Being able to stay ahead of the teacher will also give children a sense of self-confidence and further promote the improvement of learning results. 03Another tip is to take advantage of waitingTime self-test: 1) When I understand and there is nothing to do, I wait 2) When the teacher assigns a task and I finish it, I also wait 3) When the teacher is tutoring and asking other students, I also wait How long will the teacher teach? About 17 minutes or so. There are still 23 minutes left, some of which are time for answering questions and some of which are classroom exercises, but a lot of time is \”waiting time\”. People who are good at learning will make good use of this waiting time. For example, when we understand a new piece of knowledge and have time to wait, we can quickly review it. Take chemistry as an example and talk about elements. If you have time to wait, just summarize for yourself what physical properties the element we are talking about today has, how many chemical properties it has, etc. In this way, not only will you review it more than your classmates, but the knowledge will be stored in your memory in a structured way, making it easier to remember. 04 Another secret is to learn to take notes scientifically and take self-tests: 1) I never take notes (above grade 5), but the results are not good when doing questions. 2) I carefully recorded the teacher’s writing on the blackboard, so that I had less time to listen to the teacher and think by myself. 3) I like beautiful notes. I think it is a very happy thing to take the time to make them neat and beautiful. Taking notes in class is important. But it’s not about “writing it down”, it’s about “learning it”. So sometimes we find that some students never take notes or only record very few notes, which does not delay their performance. Notes are a learning aid, not the result of learning. Especially the notes in science subjects. Notes that scratch your eyebrows and beard are of little use. Notes mainly record four things: knowledge point framework: listen to the teacher first, and then record the teacher’s outline and key parts. If you don’t have time to remember, you can organize it later. If you can understand it in class, it is also in the textbook, so you don’t have to copy it. Remember thinking: remember the important ideas and theorems that the teacher taught, as well as the thinking skills used in solving problems. Remember the important, difficult and error-prone points: Organize your notes after returning home, and mark the important, difficult and error-prone points with different colors or underlines. Note and supplement: Many of the knowledge required for the exam is not in the textbook. It is supplementary content by the teacher and should be recorded. Note your own summary and reflections: The best way to take notes is that each knowledge point in each section has its own summary. It is best to sort out the internal connections between the knowledge and methods of the relevant units and form a knowledge system.
