01 Once upon a time, there was a flightless bird. It will not soar into the sky like an eagle, nor fly as nimbly as a swallow, nor fly as low as a sparrow, nor will it migrate in a herringbone formation like wild geese. It is a lonely bird that somehow came to a forest without birds. It didn\’t realize that it was any different. It was the creatures around it that made it understand that it was a great regret that it couldn\’t fly. 02Once upon a time, there was a deer that couldn\’t run very fast. It will not gallop like a cheetah, gallop like an antelope, jump and run like a hare, or gallop like a horse. It was a solitary deer that somehow ended up in a grassland without deer. It didn\’t realize there was anything wrong with it. It was other animals that made it aware that not being able to run fast was a huge shortcoming. 03 Once upon a time, there was a rabbit that couldn\’t jump. It does not leap high like a kangaroo, does not jump as briskly as a frog, does not bounce as nimbly as a grasshopper, and does not cross obstacles like an antelope. It\’s a quiet rabbit, somehow found in a rabbitless prairie. It didn\’t realize there was anything wrong with it. It was the animals around it that made it understand that not being able to jump turned out to be a big shortcoming. 04Once upon a time, there was a monkey who couldn\’t climb trees. It won’t climb a tree as quickly as a squirrel, won’t hug a tree like a koala, won’t swing between branches like a gibbon, and won’t climb freely on a tree trunk like a woodpecker. It was a lonely monkey who somehow ended up in a forest without monkeys. It didn\’t realize there was anything wrong with it. It was other animals that made it understand that not being able to climb trees was a big flaw. 05 Once upon a time, there was a nightingale that could not sing. It does not sing crisply like an oriole, nor sing gracefully like a lark, nor sing happily like a magpie chirping to announce good news, nor does it make a melodious sound like a cuckoo. It is a lonely nightingale, and somehow it ends up in a forest without nightingales. It didn\’t realize that it was different from others. It was the animals around it that made it realize that not being able to sing turned out to be a great regret.
