Luo Qianxi improvised on her friend’s pregnant belly in August
\”Post-90s\” Sichuan girl hand-draws a cute baby with a pen tip and a \”silly\” baby on her belly
\”Like all pregnant mothers, I want to record this beautiful pregnancy in a special way. Some choose photography, and some choose to write diaries, but painting is my most convenient way of expression.\” —— When the body carries new life Luo Qianxi, the \”post-90s Sichuan girl\”, once worried that pregnancy would hinder the pace of artistic creation. As she gradually sensed the continuation of life, her heart softened. She picked up the paintbrush in her hand and drew her imagination of \”life\” on her belly. In eight months of pregnancy, she created 9 works. When art and life no longer conflict, she no longer fears and begins to look forward to the arrival of a new life.
Being a first-time mother brings more surprises than joy
Not long after Luo Qianxi got married, she welcomed her baby into her belly, but at that time she was still busy with work. It was not until the end of work that Luo Qianxi, who was four months pregnant, gradually felt the existence of life in her womb and began to work hard to become an excellent mother and create art with her baby.
Before starting to create, Luo Qianxi will do a lot of homework. First, she will \”base\” and mirror the work on the computer, and then write it in her stomach. After setting up the mirror and looking at the draft, she carefully sketched the baby\’s appearance in her mind. Each drawing took 3 to 5 hours. After the photo shoot, she would quickly wash off the paint and not leave it on her belly for more than 5 hours. \”The paint is easy to wash off and melts when it touches water. I don\’t feel any discomfort.\” In the early days, Luo Qianxi painted once every half month. After her belly grew, she painted once a week. To date, she has painted nine baby portraits.
The style of painting has changed dramatically. \”Expectation\” defeats \”fear\”
As a freelance illustrator, Luo Qianxi\’s painting style was once dark. The colors are mainly black and white. As the fetus grew, her heart gradually softened, she could take care of others, and she stopped going to restless music festivals. The style of painting changed dramatically, and the belly paintings took on maternal and warm tones. \”Painting makes pregnancy interesting and fulfilling, and it becomes a part of art creation. I no longer have the initial fear. I am looking forward to it and want to take on this challenge.\”
\”I have friends who want to try it and let me draw on their bellies.\” Yesterday, Luo Qianxi improvised a picture of the belly of her friend \”DD\” who was pregnant in August. The baby held his face in his hands and looked at her with a smile. Give the foal a lollipop in the mother\’s hand. \”Xixi\’s paintings are fun. They can make yourself and the people around you happy while ensuring safety. Why not.\” Luo Qianxi\’s friend Lian Mingqiao also enjoyed Luo Qianxi\’s creative process as an audience member.
