What are Peking University President Cai Yuanpei’s reading methods?

I have been reading since I was more than ten years old. It has been almost sixty years since I read this. Except for serious illness or other special reasons, there is almost no day without reading. However, I have not achieved anything. This is because I did not study properly. I wrote down a summary of the illegal practices so that I can draw lessons from others. The first problem I have is that I can\’t concentrate. When I first started studying, all I read were old books, nothing more than textual research and chapters. My hobbies, in terms of textual research, tend to be exegesis and philosophy, and I have little patience with classics and famous articles; in terms of lyrics, I prefer prose, and I am not very enthusiastic about parallel prose and poetry. However, he was ashamed of not knowing anything, so he read everything. He also read arithmetic books and medical books, but he didn\’t understand them all. I once wanted to compile a \”Shuowen Sheng System Yi Zheng\” and another \”Gongyang Chunqiu Dayi\”, but neither of them was completed. After I turned 40, I started to study German and later French. I didn’t do the hard work of memorizing new words and practicing grammar. Instead, I just read books alive. So I still can’t write a qualified article or write an essay. Return to short speech. The second problem I have is that I cannot write diligently. My reading is originally self-interested, that is, I don\’t search for the shortcomings in the book. I only pay attention to the materials that I think are useful or lovely. This wouldn\’t have been so bad. But my disadvantage is that although I pay attention to these points when reading, I often have no time to extract these points or make special marks in the book for the sake of speed reading. CCTV Recommendation: Over 500 high-scoring excellent documentaries are recommended. Children will be addicted to self-discipline after watching the pattern. I remember a note that said that when Wang Yuyang was studying, when he encountered new and interesting allusions or phrases, he would copy them out with a note and stick them on the wall of his study. Read it from time to time, and when it is familiar, take it off and replace it with a new one. So he remembers a lot. Although this is a literary trick, why can\’t it be imitated in science? Regarding my shortcomings in studying, I have experienced a lot of inconveniences in practice. Therefore, I have written this out in the hope that readers, in view of my shortcomings, can first concentrate and secondly write diligently, which will definitely yield many results.
