1. Always pay attention to the changes in the postpartum incision. Because parturients who incise their perineum during delivery often experience the following abnormalities: 1. Wound hematoma: Severe pain at the incision 1-2 hours after suturing, and it becomes more and more serious, and there may even be swelling in the anus. At this time, medical staff should be notified immediately , and conduct inspections in a timely manner. It may be that the doctor did not stop the bleeding enough when suturing. In this case, as long as the sutures are removed in time, the hematoma is removed, the bleeding points are sutured, and the wound is re-sutured, the pain will disappear quickly and most of them can heal normally.
2. Wound infection: 2-3 days after delivery, the local wound will show signs of inflammation such as redness, swelling, heat, and pain. There may be induration and purulent secretions when squeezed. In this case, appropriate antibiotics should be given and sutures removed to allow the pus to drain. At the same time, you can use physical therapy to help reduce inflammation, or use a 1:5000 potassium permanganate warm water solution to take a sitz bath. After taking these measures, the perineum will generally get better or healed after 1-2 weeks due to its rich blood supply and strong healing ability.
3. Wound dehiscence after suture removal: Some mothers have perineal wounds dehiscence after suture removal. If you have been discharged from the hospital at this time, you should go to the hospital immediately for examination and treatment. If the wound tissue is fresh and the dehiscence time is short, the second suture can be performed immediately after proper disinfection. The stitches can be removed after 5 days and most of them can grow back; if the wound tissue is not fresh and there is secretion, it cannot be sutured. Take a sitz bath with potassium manganate solution and take antibiotics to prevent infection. The local scar will heal on its own after it forms.
2. Pay attention to the care of the perineal wound after delivery and keep the area clean. Before removing the sutures, you can rinse with disinfectant such as 1:1000 bromide, twice a day, and once after defecation to avoid contamination by feces and other dirt; if it is still not clean, you should still wash the vulva with warm boiled water twice a day. . At the same time, it is necessary to keep the stool smooth and prevent the wound from cracking. If necessary, you can take some laxatives. It is best to defecate in a sitting position and avoid squatting for too long. In addition, after the sutures are removed, the inside of the wound is still not firm, so it is not advisable to move around too much or do too much exercise.
In addition, under normal circumstances, the perineal wound will feel uncomfortable before the sutures are removed, and there may be pain when sitting. There will generally be some relief after the sutures are removed, but it will take 2-3 weeks to fully return to normal feeling. About 10 days after delivery, some women find that the knotted ends of their intestines have detached from the vagina. Don\’t be alarmed, this is internal organs falling out of your vaginal opening. If there are silk threads in the perineum, you should see a doctor to remove them in time to avoid infection.
