IgG positivity: Indicates that the individual has been infected with rubella virus or has been vaccinated against rubella. IgG antibodies are chronic antibodies that can exist in the body for a long time and provide long-term immune protection.
IgM negative: means there is no acute infection at present. IgM is an indicator of acute infection, and if IgM is negative, it usually means that the individual is not experiencing an active infection with the rubella virus.
A positive IgG and negative IgM test result usually indicates that the individual is immune to the rubella virus, possibly due to past infection or vaccination. This state is considered normal and does not require additional medical intervention.
Rubella virus IgG positive can prepare for pregnancy. Rubella infection can easily cause fetal malformations, especially the impact on the heart. Therefore, during pre-pregnancy check-ups, rubella virus IgG and IgM are usually checked. IgM refers to acute infection, while IgG refers to past infection.
The following situations are common when preparing for pregnancy
1. IgM positive: If the IgM test is positive, it means that you are in the acute phase and are not suitable for pregnancy. You can wait for about 3 months before going for a reexamination. If you observe that the IgM turns negative and IgG is positive, you can be pregnant;
2. IgM and IgG positive: IgM and IgG are positive at the same time during the test. It is recommended not to get pregnant, but to observe for a period of time. It is recommended to wait until IgM turns negative and only IgG is positive before getting pregnant;
3. Negative IgM and IgG: It means that you have not been infected with rubella virus. It is recommended to inject rubella vaccine. However, since there is currently no pure rubella vaccine, you can inject mixed vaccine of measles, mumps and mumps. You should wait 3 months for an examination after the injection. If the rubella IgM is negative and IgG is positive, you can continue to prepare for pregnancy.
Things to note during pregnancy preparation
1. If IGM is positive, short-term pregnancy should be avoided to prevent embryo miscarriage or malformation.
2. Women should maintain good living and eating habits to enhance immunity.
3. Conduct regular prenatal check-ups for early detection and early treatment.
Preventive measures
1. If it is weakly positive (IGM or IGG is weakly positive), it is not recommended to get pregnant in the short term.
2. High-risk groups (such as those infected in early pregnancy) should be vaccinated against rubella in time and reviewed regularly.
